What is the Audi Advanced Key?
Audi prioritizes comfort and convenience. That's why all new models we display include keyless entry and starting. This technology allows you to get into your car and start driving while keeping the key fob in your purse or pocket.

1. Proximity Detection
An Audi with proximity detection enables you to start and enter your car without ever having to take the key from your pocket or purse. This authorization and access system works through automatic data exchange between your convenience key and your car which allows you to open the trunk and doors and even activate the engine with just one press on your key.
A sound-based sensor is also referred to as a capacitive sensor, detects the presence of objects in the vicinity by utilizing an acoustic wave. The sensors produce a signal using an oscillator. The signal is transmitted into the air by a microphone which converts it to an audio file. Then, the audio files are compared to determine the degree of similarity and how close they are. When they are close enough the system will send a wake-up signal to the key and transmit an ID signal that is in line with the vehicle.
Proximity detection is only the first step towards a more convenient driving experience. The Audi advanced key also has remote start that lets you start the engine of your car from outside of the range of your key's FOB. This is useful for loading groceries into the boot, securing your children in their seats or packing for a trip with the family.
